NEW ORLEANS — A man was killed in a single-vehicle crash Sunday morning the New Orleans Police Department reported.
It happened at about 6:42 a.m. Sunday in the 19700 block of Chef Menteur Highway.
Police say when officers arrived, they found the yet-to-be-identified driver unresponsive inside a vehicle lodged between a tree and a fence. The driver was declared deceased on the scene.
Investigators say the man was traveling Eastbound and had veered off the road for an unknown reason and struck a fire hydrant and then a tree.
The Orleans Parish Coroner will officially identify the victim after an autopsy and the family is notified.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
