PARIS, France — I hope you’re enjoying the Olympics as much as I am. America’s team is racking up medals, as usual, including some that were welcome surprises. The U.S. men’s gymnastics team is a great example of determination and grit, as well as our nation’s diversity. In fact, the entire U.S. Olympic Team reflects the blessings of America’s diversity.
It’s unfortunate that diversity has become a hot political topic. Without the tremendous diversity of our Olympic team, America would win fewer medals. America’s Olympians showcase our nation’s greatness on the world’s biggest stage by racking up medals and epitomizing the Olympic spirit of friendship and solidarity across cultural lines. That’s what truly makes America great.
