MANDEVILLE, La. — Causeway officials have reopened the southbound Causeway Bridge after an accident forced a bridge closure.
Drivers were advised to take an alternate route. Few details are available at this time as to the extent of that accident.
WWL Louisiana Meteorologist Payton Malone has warned about the foggy conditions in his forecast. Visibility is limited and drivers are urged to use caution when driving, especially across bodies of water.
"The rolling fog convoy is in effect on the Causeway - Southbound bridge. Causeway Police may determine various speeds that coincide with visibility on the bridge. No lane changes in convoy, "causeway officials said. That convoy was later lifted, and traffic flowed again.
The northbound bridge also had a speed restriction due to the foggy conditions.
