Causeway Bridge reopens after severe weather threat prompts closure

Severe weather forced officials to close the bridge.

NEW ORLEANS — Update: Officials have reopened the Causeway Bridge.

Weather restrictions have been lifted on the Lake Ponchartrain Causeway Bridge in both directions.

The Lake Pontchartrain Causeway Bridge North is closed to traffic due to severe weather. Motorists are advised to use alternate routes: I-10 East to the Twinspan Bridge or I-10 West to I-55.
