BATON ROUGE, La. — Human remains were discovered Thursday by the Baton Rouge Police department, according to our partners at WBRZ.
Officers said "multiple skeletal remains of a human body were found in the tree line" near Dawsons Creek at 3100 Congress Boulevard.
Police said they received a call around 10 a.m., after a worker who was surveying for an "impending clearing project" found the remains, WBRZ reported.
The Coroner's Office and LSU Faces Lab responded to collect the remains in hopes of making a positive identification.
Officers said no foul play was suspected and the investigation is ongoing.
