NEW ORLEANS — The Krewe of Bacchus announces the Emmy and Golden Globe-nominated actor who will reign as Bacchus LV.
Actor Kevin Dillon will reign over Bacchus for the 2024 Carnival season.
He is best known for his role as Johnny "Drama" Chase in the HBO comedy series "Entourage."
He is also praised for his memorable performance as the sociopathic soldier “Bunny” in the war film “Platoon” and as the drummer “John Densmore” in the musical “The Doors.”
Dillon joins a growing list of celebrities to reign as Bacchus including Anthony Mackie, Will Ferrell, Andy Garcia, Drew Brees and more.
“We are thrilled that Kevin Dillon will be joining us as Bacchus LV,” said Brennan. “Kevin follows in our long tradition of outstanding entertainers who delight the crowds and make Mardi Gras even more enjoyable.”
The theme of the 55th Bacchus parade is “Take A Number Please.” It will be executed in 32 hand-painted floats designed by Kern Studios with such titles as 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue and the 12 Days of Christmas. Bacchus’ traditional signature floats include the Baccha-Kong family, Bacchasaurus, Bacchawhoppa, Baccha-Amore, Bacchaneer, Bacchagator and The Chariot.
The Bacchus parade will roll on Sunday, Feb. 11, and follow the traditional uptown parade route.
