Power restored after nearly 7,000 Entergy customers in Tangipahoa Parish lost power

TANGIPAHOA PARISH, La. — Almost all of Entergy customers in Tangipahoa Parish have their electricity restored after heavy rain and gusty winds hit the area Friday.

According to Entergy's map, 1,274 are still left without power as of 4:35 p.m. Entergy crews are working to restore power in certain areas.

At the height of the power outage, nearly 7,000 Entergy customers were without power in Tangipahoa Parish.

Entergy reported the outage in the area around 2:29 p.m. on Friday.

Entergy said the power outage was caused by thunderstorms and high winds. Crews worked to restore power quickly and safely as possible.

Entergy said the estimated time of restoration could change as "damage assessments are completed or if other storm activity results in additional outages."

The estimated time of restoration is Sunday, March 17 at midnight.
