NEW ORLEANS - New Orleans Police responded to a shooting where a seven-year-old girl was hit in the leg.
The shooting occurred near the intersection of Frenchmen and North Villere streets.
NOPD officials said a white SUV with possibly two suspects inside drove down Frenchmen - heading away from the river -- and opened fire on a group of young people standing outside a house.
The girl was hit in the ankle, but no one else was hit in the shooting, police said. The victim's grandmother said there has been an ongoing feud in the neighborhood and that may have played a role in the shooting.
There have been no reports on the condition of the child.
A white SUV was recovered several blocks away in the 2400 block of St. Ann Street, police said.
Two suspects, Damon Abrams and Toran Duhon, have been arrested in connection with the shooting, police said.
