After reporting a series of armed robberies on the West Bank, Sheriff Newell Normand announced the arrest and confession of three robbery suspects, according to a statement from the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office.

The string of robberies, according to police, was committed by several young men driving an SUV targeting people in Marrero, Harvey and Terrytown. Through surveillance video and during the course of the investigation, police determined that Lawrence Brue, 19, Craig Jackson, 19, and Denzell Coleman, 18, all of Marrero, were responsible for the crimes.

Police went to Brue's address Saturday, finding an SUV, which matched the description of a vehicle used in many of the robberies, in front of his home, police said, inside the vehicle were the three suspects. Brue fled but was caught by a K-9 dog, police said.

Inside of the vehicle, police found a 9 mm handgun, a shotgun, several pellet guns and several kinds of ammunition, police said. Inside of Brue's home, police said they found clothing matching descriptions of the suspects.

The men, according to police, confessed to the crimes. They were booked with ten counts of armed robbery, two counts of attempted armed robbery and one count of simple burglary.
