NEW ORLEANS -- The City Council plans to hold a press conference to address Entergy's use of paid actors during recent meetings to decide the fate of a new power station.
According to Council President Jason Williams, while the need for a new power station is apparent, using paid actors "unfairly impacts the hard work and countless hours the Council, staff and parties to the docket put into this critical decision."
According to the New Orleans Advocate, in October about 50 people in bright orange shirts attended a public hearing at the City Council chambers on Entergy's request to support building a controversial $210 million power plant in New Orleans East.
The announcement will be made Friday at 9:30 a.m. at City Hall.
