NEW ORLEANS — A third measles case was confirmed on Friday after an unvaccinated traveler came to New Orleans, according to the Louisiana Department of Health.
The department said the patient is an "international visitor who was not fully vaccinated and was exposed to measles outside of the U.S.," in a release.
The individual is in isolation and received treatment at the Greater New Orleans hospital.
LDH said they are working to notify people who have come in contact with the individual.
This is the third measles case reported this year, health officials said.
According to LDH, individuals who were at the Ramada by Wyndham New Orleans at 6303 Chef Menteur Highway on Wednesday, Aug. 7, "may have been exposed to measles and are at risk for developing symptoms within 21 days," in a release.
