West Jeff Medical Center starts drive-thru screening for coronavirus

You must call and be screened by phone before going to the drive-thru screening. (504-962-6202)

HARVEY, La. — West Jefferson Medical Center has begun offering drive-thru screening for the coronavirus. The drive-thru service is available and people will remain in their cars for the tests to allow for social distancing.

However, before they do the test, they say people must call Hotline (504-962-6202). If they determine from the call that you need further screening, they will send you to the drive-thru area, the hours which will be Monday - Sunday from noon to 8 pm.
 
Location: Driveway immediately off of Medical Center Boulevard adjacent to the West Jefferson Medical Center emergency department.

Date of Implementation: services to begin Monday, March 16; services will be provided 7 days/week (12:00 noon – 8:00 pm).

Reserved Parking Spaces: patients awaiting test results will be instructed to park in reserved spaces next to the External Assessment Center driveway. 

Step 1: Call Us: If you or your family are experiencing minor symptoms such as fever, cough,  body aches, sore throat, runny nose or any other cold like symptoms, call the LCMC Health COVID-19 Hotline (504-962-6202) to talk to the nursing team who will conduct a screening over the phone and advise on next steps for care. Hotline is available seven days a week from 9am - 5pm. 

Step 2: Come See Us: If our hotline determines that you need further evaluation, you can visit our drive thru screening center at West Jefferson Medical Center. Our screening center is open Monday - Sunday; 12 noon - 8:00pm, conveniently located near the West Jefferson Emergency Room off Medical Center Boulevard. Please note, you must call our screening hotline prior to coming to our screening center.
