A former investigator for the Washington Parish District Attorney's Office has been arrested for using his public position to exchange sex acts with the parish's drug offenders, announced Louisiana Attorney General.
Michael Cotton, 66, of Bogalusa, was arrested Friday on charges of abuse of office and principal to possession of Suboxone, a Schedule III narcotic.
According to the AG's office, Cotton's arrest was part of a joint task force investigation involving the FBI-New Orleans Division, the Louisiana State Inspector General, Louisiana Attorney General's Public Corruption Unit, Louisiana State Police and the Washington Parish District Attorney's Office.
Cotton is accused of supplying drug offenders with cash and narcotics in exchange for sex acts. He was booked into the Washington Parish Prison.
