KENNER, La. — The final touches and details are underway at the new land-based Treasure Chest Casino on Williams Boulevard in Kenner.
The City of Kenner posted photos of work crews and contractors putting together the detailed final touches to the interior and gambling floor.
“We have been eagerly awaiting our grand opening for some time and are ecstatic to finally be able to open the doors to Treasure Chest’s loyal patrons and guests,” said Kim Etland, Vice President and General Manager for Treasure Chest Casino. “The new property allows for more space, games, and restaurants to serve and fill a premier entertainment need in our community.”
On Saturday, the Treasure Chest Casino Riverboat took its last bets and officially closed its doors after serving the City of Kenner with entertainment for 30 years. Patrons and casino staff celebrated the end with a second line through the casino in typical New Orleans fashion.
The new land-based $100 million casino expansion project brings a premier experience with a convenient single-level 48,000-square-foot gaming floor, several new restaurants and bars, a FanDuel-branded sports book, and ample parking.
The Treasure Chest Casino will be open seven days a week from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 a.m. Sunday through Thursday and open 24 hours on Friday and Saturday.
Reservations are not needed for the four restaurants but are highly encouraged for Alder & Birch Steakhouse through Open Table. Complimentary drink service will return to the gaming floor with two self-service beverage stations offering guests complimentary water, soda, and coffee.
The grand opening is set for Thursday, June 6.
