NEW ORLEANS — The NOPD is investigating a homicide that happened Sunday morning in the 700 block of St. Peter Street in the French Quarter.
This is the second homicide the police department is investigating within 24 hours.
The police department says Eighth District officers responded to a call of shots fired and upon arrival discovered one adult woman, later identified by the Orleans Parish coroner as Kristie Thibodeaux, 43, suffering from a gunshot wound. EMS arrived and pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.
Investigators continue to gather evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive.
