NEW ORLEANS — The New Orleans police department is investigating the death of a 44-year-old woman who was found unresponsive on Esplanade Avenue Monday morning.
The victim, identified as Patricia Fitzgerald, was found with head injuries and a bite mark on her abdomen, police reported. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office determined that the incident was a homicide and her death was caused by blunt force injuries and manual strangulation.
As of Thursday morning, the NOPD did not have any additional information on the investigation.
