MARRERO, La. — The Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office says a woman is dead after she was hit by a pickup truck in Marrero on Wednesday evening.
Deputies were called to Lapalco Blvd., near the intersection at Paxton Ave, around 7 p.m. According to the JPSO, a white pickup truck hit a pedestrian in the eastbound lanes.
The woman died at the scene.
Investigators said they do not suspect the driver of the truck was impaired. The driver stayed at the scene and consented to the toxicology test.
The identity of the woman has not been released.
