MIAMI – Racquel Smith, widow of former New Orleans Saints player Will Smith, accepted his graduate degree posthumously Thursday.
Saints team social media posted a picture of Raquel and the degree from the University of Miami.
In an interview with WWL-TV the day after Smith was shot to death April 9, close friend and former NOPD officer Billy Ceravolo said Smith was working on a degree.
“Will had so much going on in his life, with finishing his MBA just last week,” Ceravola said. “Looking at possibly starting coaching with the Saints and helping out again. I mean he had so much going on, it was just the start of his life again I guess, after football.”
