NEW ORLEANS — A New Orleans Uber Driver was killed on Feb. 20 just days before his first anniversary.
Andrew Stiller was driving on the I-10 Service road near Bundy after a shooting caused a car to smash through a fence, killing Stiller and his passenger, 21-year-old Johnell Hampton.
Stiller's wife, Melissa, spoke to WWL-TV and said that she was concerned with how ride-share companies are not doing enough to protect the safety of their drivers.
"The reality is my husband was working, and now he's dead. I didn't know today would be the last time I held him, kissed him, touched him, told him I loved him," Stiller said. "Two days later I was supposed to tell him happy first anniversary, and now I can't. I'll never see him again."
The Stiller family has a gofundme set up for Andrew's funeral expenses which can be viewed here.
