Two more people arrested in connection with fatal shooting in LaPlace

Two suspects were taken into custody and charged with accessory after the fact to second-degree murder. Another suspect was arrested and charged in September.

St. John the Baptist Sheriff's Office announced the arrest of Jeanne Brown and Leon Perkins in connection with the fatal shooting of Tyris Millet.

LAPLACE, La. — St. John the Baptist Sheriff's Office announced the arrest of Jeanne Brown and Leon Perkins in connection with the fatal shooting of 26-year-old Tyris Millet that occurred in LaPlace, La., late last summer.

According to SJSO, which had already arrested Jonathan Williams a day after the incident (Sept. 1) and charged with second-degree murder, Brown and Perkins were taken into custody on Tuesday and charged with accessory after the fact to second-degree murder. 

Brown and Perkins are currently being held in lieu of a $100,000 bond. 

At the time of the crime on Aug. 31, deputies responded to the 1400 block of Cartier Drive and upon arrival discovered Millet had been shot.

The victim later succumbed to his wounds at a St. John Parish hospital.
