GRAY, La. — After a Terrebonne Parish couple was killed in their front yard returning from a parade last week, deputies arrested two men booking both on first degree murder charges on Friday.
Damion Damon Carter, 28, from Dustin; and Jonathan Patrick Carter, 25, from Gray, were both arrested Tuesday, the two were issued warrants for two counts of first degree murder. Jonathan Carter had also been wanted on other unrelated arrest warrants and was transferred to Lafourche Parish for those other charges.
"Through continued investigation of the cellular device data ... detectives confirmed the involvement of Damion Carter," Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office said on Friday. "Additional evidence in the form of video surveillance footage, confirmed Damion Carter's involvement in the murders, which detectives believe was limited to driving Jonathan Carter to and from the scene of the murders."
The double homicide happened on Willowdale Drive in Gray, La., on Monday. The victims's family members had said the man and woman who were killed in the shooting were a husband and wife.
The couple had apparently been returning home from nearby parades.
