NEW ORLEANS — An attempted traffic stop on Monday resulted in a police chase in New Orleans that ended with a fiery crash and a Vermont murder suspect arrested.
According to the Louisiana State Police, troopers pursued a stolen 2016 Lincoln MKZ after the driver allegedly failed to pull over for multiple traffic violations near North Roman St. & Elysian Fields Ave.
During the pursuit, LSP says the vehicle crashed and caught fire and both the driver and passenger fled on foot.
The driver, identified as 31-year-old Danny Daniels of Marcus Hook, Pennsylvania, and the passenger 18-year-old A’Juan Preston of New Orleans, were both apprehended and arrested with the help of the FBI New Orleans Field Office, New Orleans Police Department, and the Port of New Orleans Harbor Police.
Daniels was wanted in Vermont for a first-degree murder charge in Vermont and federal drug charges.
