3 teens arrested for stealing, burning LGBTQ flag, St. Tammany Parish sheriff says

They were released to their parents on a custodial agreement to appear in court on charges of theft, criminal damage to property, and a misdemeanor hate crime.

ST. TAMMANY PARISH, La. — The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office says deputies have arrested three Mandeville-area teens after allegedly stealing and burning an LBGTQ flag.

The sheriff’s office said that last month, a Mandeville-area woman called them to report her LGBTQ flag was stolen from outside her house and burned in the middle of the roadway at the intersection of Soult Drive and Preval Drive.

Detectives with the STPSO Property Crimes Division arrested two 15-year-olds and one 14-year-old after obtaining a video of the three teens burning the flag while making derogatory remarks.

They were released to their parents/guardians on a custodial agreement to appear in court on charges of theft, criminal damage to property, and a misdemeanor hate crime.
