A teenager arrested for pointing a gun and threatening a woman has escaped O.J.J. custody, NOPD said on Monday.
Kai Jefferson, 16, apparently made the threat on Friday in New Orleans East on the 14500 block of Duane Road. He was arrested afterward and booked into the Office of Juvenile Justice.
"The victim reported that Jefferson pointed a firearm at her and threatened to shoot her," NOPD said on Monday. "The victim also reported that Jefferson allegedly threatened her with a firearm on several other occasions."
In addition to new charges for escaping custody, the 16-year-old faces three counts of aggravated assault with a firearm and one count of criminal damage.
Jefferson is 5-foot-6, according to NOPD.
