HAMMOND, La. — A suspect was reported at large on Monday after a woman was stabbed and killed in Hammond, according to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office.
"Deputies located 31-year-old Carol Allen of New Orleans in the backseat of a vehicle with multiple stab wounds to her body," Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office said on Monday. "Life saving measures were attempted by deputies, however, Allen later succumbed to her injuries in the hospital."
Allen was found by deputies on Saturday afternoon around 2:30 on West Pleasant Ridge Road in Hammond. Sheriff Daniel Edwards did not immediately announce a motive for the killing or the name of the suspect.
Allen was the mother of four children.
