NEW ORLEANS — A pursuit with Louisiana State Police ended with a crash on N. Rampart Street Monday morning.

According to LSP, a Trooper was at the intersection of Chef Highway and Dale Street when a 2008 Ford F-150 disregarded a red light and almost hit the Trooper’s unit.

A New Orleans Police Officer who was in the area then tried to conduct a traffic stop, but the Ford wouldn't stop, and the chase began.

"NOPD ultimately disengaged from the pursuit, and Troopers continued, following the vehicle through various streets," LSP officials said.

The pursuit ended at around 11 a.m. when the vehicle crashed into a fence near 1027 N. Rampart Street. The driver was arrested without incident.

Investigators say the Ford was stolen Monday morning in Kenner.

State Police units could be seen surrounding a red pickup truck that crashed into a wrought iron fence in the 1100 block of N. Rampart Street. The scene happened at about 11:00 a.m. Monday and was quickly cleared after one person was taken into custody.
