PEARL RIVER, La. — The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office says that they are investigating a suspicious death that happened over the weekend in the Pearl River area.
Detectives were called to the 67000 block of Slaughter Drive on Sunday around 5 p.m. When they arrived, they found 74-year-old Douglas LaFrance dead on his front porch.
"In conjunction with the St. Tammany Parish Coroner’s Office and following an autopsy, suspicions were confirmed, and LaFrance’s death was ruled a homicide," STPSO said.
The coroner's office told WWL Louisiana that LaFrance was shot in the head.
