Charles Tyler Himber caught on camera screaming "Let us in" during the Jan. 6 Capitol Riots in 2021.

SLIDELL, La. — A Slidell man who was arrested in February on charges related to his conduct during the breach of the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, pleaded guilty to a felony charge of civil disorder, according to Nola.com.

Charles Tyler Himber, 30, entered the plea on Monday in Washington, D.C. before U.S. District Judge Loren L. AliKhan, our partners reported.

Himber faces a maximum sentence of five years. Federal prosecutors said he will be sentenced at a later date.

He was also charged with several misdemeanor offenses, but those charges were dropped "when he pleaded guilty to the felony count," according to our partners. Those charges included:

  • Knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority
  • Disorderly or disruptive conduct in a restricted building or grounds
  • Disorderly or disruptive conduct in a Capitol building
  • Parading, demonstrating, or picketing in a Capitol building

Himber is one of three people from the Northshore to plead guilty. In June, Willard Purkel Jr., 51, pleaded guilty to one felony charge for civil disorder and four misdemeanor counts, our partners reported.

Purkel's son, Colby Purkel, pleaded guilty in April, and his sentence is scheduled on Aug. 1.

More than 1,313 individuals have been charged in nearly all 50 states for crimes related to the breach of the U.S. Capitol.
