Slidell man arrested on numerous drug charges following joint investigation, sheriff says

Joint investigation yields arrest of alleged drug dealer and seizure of significant amount of illegal pills.

SLIDELL, La. — The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office announced the arrest of 52-year-old Donald “Buckshot” Plaisance on numerous drug charges last week following a joint investigation with the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office

According to the STPSO, detectives with the Narcotics Division began the joint investigation with the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office into drug activity including the storage of large quantities of marijuana and counterfeit pills at the suspect's Slidell residence in the 57000 block of Cedar Avenue to distribute in the two parishes.

On Thursday, April 25, a search warrant was issued for the suspect's home and the following items were seized:

  • 2,499 orange pills which tested positive for methamphetamine (Counterfeit Adderall 30mg)
  • 246 blue pills which tested positive for cocaine (Counterfeit Viagra)
  • Approximately 14 grams of suspected methamphetamine
  • 45 white oxycodone pills
  • 118 grams of suspected marijuana
  • 8 THC vape cartridges
  • Assorted drug paraphernalia
  • $2,300 cash

As a result of this seizure, Plaisance was arrested and booked into the St. Tammany Parish Correctional Center on the following charges:

  • L.R.S. 40:967AC Possession with the Intent to Distribute a Schedule II CDS (methamphetamine)
  • L.R.S. 40:967AC Possession with the Intent to Distribute a Schedule II CDS (cocaine)
  • L.R.S. 40:967C Possession of Schedule II CDS (oxycodone) (2 counts)
  • L.R.S. 40:1041 Transactions Involving Proceeds from Drug Offenses
  • L.R.S. 40:966C Possession of Schedule I CDS (marijuana) (2 counts)
  • L.R.S. 40:1023 Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

“We have great partnerships with our surrounding agencies,” Sheriff Randy Smith said. “Those partnerships enable us to make arrests like this one. I want to thank the detectives with the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office for their assistance in this case.”
