SLIDELL, La. — A Slidell High School teacher was arrested Tuesday morning after allegedly sending inappropriate photos, and text messages, and buying alcohol for students at a local bar, according to the Slidell Police Department.
Alexa Wingerter, 35, was arrested following allegations in March that she had inappropriate relationships with her students. Police said she used various social media sites to talk to students.
Officers said Wingerter was involved in a "sexual relationship with at least one 18-year-old male student."
Wingerter also bought liquor for the students at local bars in Slidell, the department said.
Slidell police said the investigation is ongoing and there could be more victims.
A warrant was issued for Wingerter's arrest.
She faces charges of Prohibited Sexual Conduct Between an Educator and Student and Unlawful Purchase of Alcoholic Beverages on Behalf of Persons Under 21.
