LACOMBE, La. — A warrant has been issued for a 25-year-old Abita Springs man in connection with a fatal shooting in Lacombe, La., on Tuesday night.
According to the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office, Marrio Haynes is wanted for one count of Second-Degree Murder.
St. Tammany Parish Coroners Office identified the victim as 23-year-old Juwarren Martin.
Detectives began investigating the incident that occurred outside a gas station shortly after 6:45 p.m. in the 28000 block of U.S. Highway 190.
The shooting left Martin mortally wounded after being shot in his chest. He was transported to the hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
STPSO said the two men were acquaintances and that the incident was not random.
