KENNER, La. — A 37-year-old Kenner woman is in custody after a police investigation linked her as a suspect in a pair of reported package thefts that occurred at two Driftwood subdivision homes last week.

One of the thefts included a package containing military ribbons and medals for a service member’s uniform.

According to Kenner PD, Brittany Ponds was arrested on Monday after police executed a search warrant at her home in the 200 block of Taylor Street.

Police said the search uncovered the red food delivery bag the suspect was seen on video surveillance footage using to carry the stolen packages from which many of the items were also found, as well as the military service awards, stolen clothing, toys and a small amount of methamphetamine.

Based on the evidence recovered, Kenner Police said that Pond's arrest helps clear several 'Porch Pirate' cases throughout Jefferson Parish.

Ponds was charged with several counts of theft and drug possession.
