St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office arrests 3 men, seize over 200 fake LA, TX tags and license plates

St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office arrests three men for making counterfeit inspections stickers

ST BERNARD, La. — The St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office arrested three men for forgery involving vehicle compliance and registration materials. 

SBSO identified them as 54-year-old Elber Allen Jr., 61-year-old Theodore Lenaris, and 40-year-old Charles Bailey were arrested.

Investigators said they recovered counterfeit and forged Louisiana and Texas Department of Motor Vehicles inspection certificates, Louisiana License plate registration stickers, and blank temporary Louisiana license plates, totaling more than 200 fictitious state documents.

Allen was booked with 193 counts of forgery of a motor vehicle inspection certificate. 

Lenaris was booked with 16 counts of forgery of a motor vehicle inspection certificate, and Bailey was booked with forgery of a motor vehicle inspection certificate and possession of a firearm or carrying concealed weapon by a person convicted of certain felonies.

No other information is available at this time.
