Report: 2 people killed, 2 injured in shooting near the University of Louisiana Lafayette campus

The double fatal shooting happened outside a popular fried chicken restaurant and just after ULL's homecoming football game.

LAFAYETTE, La. — Two people were killed and others injured in a shooting across the street from the University of Louisiana Lafayette's campus Saturday night according to our partners at The Times-Picayune.

As our partners report, it happened about 7:30 p.m. Saturday outside the KOK Wings & Things, a popular fried chicken restaurant in the 400 block of East University Avenue, across the street from ULL's campus.

The double fatal shooting happened just after UL's homecoming football game. Corey Mouton, 26 of Carencro, and Jamir Carmouche, 24 of Lafayette, were killed in the shooting, Lafayette police said Sunday.

Two other people were injured in the shooting and are listed in stable condition. No arrests have been made. The investigation is ongoing.
