NEW ORLEANS -- A 9-week-old puppy was stolen during an armed robbery on Tulane Avenue.
According to NOPD, the victim was walking the dog around 11:45 p.m. in the 2000 block of Tulane Avenue on Feb. 25 when he was approached from behind by a man on a bicycle.
The man asked the victim if he could buy their dog. Police say the victim told him the dog wasn't for sale.
The unidentified man then lifted his shirt, showing a handgun in his waist band and took the victim's puppy.
Police describe the armed robber as a black male, about 6'1" tall, with a slim build, large lips and medium-length dreadlocks. He is believed to be in his early 20s. He was riding a dark-colored bicycle with black rims.
