NEW ORLEANS — A woman who was nine months pregnant was shot while getting into a vehicle in the Michoud area of New Orleans East.
According to a police report, the 20-year-old woman and a 21-year-old man were in the 14400 block of Chef Menteur Highway when shots were fired at about 3:40 p.m. on Friday.
The woman was shot in the stomach area and arm. She was taken to the hospital in New Orleans East before EMS transferred her to University Medical Center where she is in stable condition. Police did not say the condition of the unborn child.
