NEW ORLEANS — The man accused of robbing and shooting a University of New Orleans student in August 2022 has a pre-trial hearing on Thursday.
Tata Say faces attempted first-degree murder and attempted armed robbery charges after he was arrested with another juvenile for allegedly shooting Noah Hansard twice and paralyzing him.
Say, who has been receiving mental health treatment, was found competent to stand trial last week.
Shortly after posting a $175,000 bail on Nov. 13, Say cut off his ankle monitor which was originally set by the Orleans Parish Criminal Magistrate Court commissioner.
Say was captured the following day.
In the pre-trial hearing on Thursday, Say could enter a plea agreement or the case will go to trial.
