PIERRE PART, La. — A road rage driver was arrested after he punched a man through his vehicle's window in Pierre Part, according to the Assumption Parish Sheriff's Office.

Robert C. Watson, 33, of Pierre Part was arrested on felony battery charges Tuesday following the incident last Saturday, Aug. 17.

Deputies said they went to the 100 block of Joseph Street when the victim called 911 to report a battery complaint after the incident.

Following their investigation, arrest warrants were obtained for Watson.

According to the release, the man told deputies he was on Lee Drive when he flashed his high beams at Watson, who was driving a "side-by-side ORV," signaling him to dim his lights.

As the victim left the scene, Watson turned around and drove to Angella Street where he confronted the man and then punched him "in the face through the open window."

Deputies said the man suffered significant injuries to his face that required medical attention.

Watson was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on second-degree battery charges.

His bond hearing is pending.
