NEW ORLEANS — A fatal hit-and-run left a pedestrian fatally wounded at the intersection of Chef Menteur Highway and Ridgeway Boulevard on Sunday night.
According to the New Orleans Police Department, the incident occurred shortly after 10 p.m. in the Bayou Sauvage Urban National Wildlife Refuge area.
Investigators believe the victim was struck by a vehicle which allegedly fled the scene.
No description of the suspect's vehicle has been released.
Once Emergency Medical Services arrived, medical personnel determined the victim was dead at the scene.
An investigation is ongoing and this story will be updated once further information becomes available.
