Man arrested after trying to climb wall into jail

Guidry was taken to the Intake and Processing Center of the Orleans Justice Center.

NEW ORLEANS — A man was arrested after he tried to climb up a wall behind the Orleans Parish's Temporary Detention Center, near the Norman C. Francis I-10 overpass, according to sheriff's office.

Around 1:47 p.m., deputies said they saw a man wearing a white shirt and cargo pants trying to climb over a wall to get inside the jail.

Dylon Guidry, 29, was arrested and booked on charges of attempted burglary, resisting arrest by force, trespassing, and attempting to bring contraband (cell phone) into the jail, authorities said.

After the incident OPSO staff conducted a headcount at all OPSO facilities and confirmed all detainees were in custody and accounted for.
