NEW ORLEANS — UPDATE: NOPD releases image showing 'vehicle of interest' believed to be involved in the homicide.
The New Orleans Police Department received a call about a shooting in the 3500 block of Johnny Jackson Jr. Boulevard on Thursday afternoon.
According to police, the call came in at 1:04 p.m. and upon arrival at the Desire area location, officers found a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound.
The police confirmed the victim succumbed to his injuries and that the incident was now being investigated as a homicide.
