BATON ROUGE, La. — An off-duty Louisiana State Trooper was arrested early Monday morning for driving while intoxicated, according to LSP.
Police say 28-year-old Isaiah Gilbert of Hammond was stopped after he crossed the divider line while driving south on Interstate 110 in East Baton Rouge Parish.
Gilbert gave a breath sample, and it registered above the legal limit.
He was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Jail on the following charges: Improper Lane Usage, Driving While Intoxicated (2nd Offense), Driving While Under Suspension for Certain Offenses, Simple Damage to Property, and Open Container.
Gilbert was already on leave for driving while intoxicated in March.
"Gilbert remains on leave with all law enforcement property previously recovered pending the conclusion of criminal and administrative investigations," LSP said.
Gilbert has been employed with the Louisiana State Police since 2021.
