Northshore woman indicted for allegedly embezzling funds from school booster club

A Covington woman is accused of stealing the funds from a bank account held by the Madisonville school booster club between May 2022 and February 2024.

MADISONVILLE, La. — District Attorney Collin Sims announced that 35-year-old Heather Long was indicted by a St. Tammany Parish grand jury for embezzling more than $25,000 from a Lake Castle Madisonville Private School booster club.

According to the DA, the Covington woman is accused of stealing the funds from a bank account held by the Madisonville school booster club between May 2022 and February 2024.

Long was arrested on June 18 following a Louisiana Bureau of Investigation led by Special Agent Sean McLain.

Assistant District Attorney Butch Wilson presented the case to the grand jury.
