NEW ORLEANS — A man was arrested, a woman was injured, and a child was shot in what New Orleans police say was a domestic aggravated assault.
Police say they were notified by doctors at about 2:56 a.m. Sunday after an injured woman brought a 10-year-old girl with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the hospital emergency room. The woman suffered a non-gunshot related wound investigators say.
Through the investigation, detectives learned that the woman and child were injured in a domestic assault that happened in the 4800 block of Treves Street in New Orleans East.
Ibis Rolando, 31, was detained and later arrested on charges of negligent injuring, aggravated assault with a firearm, simple domestic abuse battery, and simple battery according to an NOPD report.
Rolando was booked accordingly into the Orleans Parish Justice Center.
