NEW ORLEANS — A New Orleans Police shot a burglary suspect Thursday morning while investigating Uptown.
NOPD Superintendent Anne Kirkpatrick says the suspect was hit after an officer fired shots in the 1200 block of State Street.
According to Kirkpatrick, the neighborhood had been targeted by serial burglars, with guns being stolen from homes. Four shotguns were recovered at the scene.
WWL Louisiana reporter Amelia Strahan spoke with a resident who said that a house on Perrier and State was robbed, and the suspect took off once officers arrived on the scene.
