NEW ORLEANS — The New Orleans Police Department has arrested one of their own officers on battery charges.
According to the arrest report, Officer Darien Crochet is accused of punching a woman at the Apres lounge in the Central Business District on Sunday. The reports says the woman fell and lost consciousness after she was punched.
A judge has ordered Crochet to stay away from the woman, and he is also banned from the lounge.
NOPD has reassigned Crochet to administrative duties. He is expected to be in court on November 21.
