NEW ORLEANS -- Police have named a suspect they believe shot a man several times in the St. Claude neighborhood Monday night.
Investigators named 20-year-old Brandon Smith as the gunman in the shooting that happened around 11:30 p.m. at North Villere and Louisa streets.
The victim told police he was walking near the corner, saw a flash and realized he was shot. He fell on the ground and, police said, realized he was shot several more times. Authorities said the man was able to run away and call police.
