NEW ORLEANS — A 16-year-old is dead after a hit-and-run crash in the Desire area.
According to New Orleans police, the 16-year-old was driving a stolen pickup truck near the intersection of Oliver White Avenue and Benefit Street Monday night when he was struck by another car and crashed into two houses.
Police say the teenager was ejected from the truck and died after being taken to the hospital.
The driver of the other car, which was also stolen, was seen running away from the scene, according to NOPD.
