NOPD investigating homicide in Holly Grove

It happened at the intersection of Monroe and Apple Streets, according to NOPD.

NEW ORLEANS — The New Orleans Police Department is investigating the homicide of an unidentified man fatally shot in Hollygrove.

It happened at about 8:53 p.m. at the intersection of Monroe and Apple Streets. 

NOPD officers responded to a call of shots fired and when they arrived they found the victim lying in the street unresponsive with an apparent gunshot wound.      

Emergency medical technicians arrived on the scene and pronounced the victim dead. A female victim was also shot and transported to a local hospital via private conveyance and is reportedly in stable condition with gunshot wounds to the arm.

The investigation is ongoing and no further information is available at this time. The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the victim and conduct an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
