NOPD investigates Broadmoor homicide

According to investigators, shortly before 5:20 a.m. Saturday police responded to a call of a man down near the intersection of Napoleon Avenue and South Dorgenios.

NEW ORLEANS — UPDATE: The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office identified the victim on Wednesday, Sept. 4, as 46-year-old Dan Riley III, who died of multiple stab wounds.

The New Orleans Police Department is investigating a homicide in the Broadmoor neighborhood

According to investigators, shortly before 5:20 a.m. Saturday police responded to a call of a man down near the intersection of Napoleon Avenue and South Dorgenios Street.

Responding officers found the victim on the ground next to a bicycle. New Orleans EMS confirmed the victim was deceased. The victim was transported to the Coroner's Office, where it was later determined he was the victim of a homicide.
